Dear beloved college football/reader, it’s week two of college football and even though every weekend can’t be a banger like the opening week for college football. We still have some great games on the slate that will shape this year’s playoffs.

Right off the bat to start our morning off right. We have the Ohio State v Oregon with Ohio State as a 14.5 favorite. To me this game is a match up of both teams strengthens v both of their weakness. Ohio State has the always explosive offense with, judging off of one game a Big 12 Defense. With Oregon having the stellar D (Fresno State was shown zero respect from Vegas last week) and the questionable offense. Give me Oregon +14.5

The other major game today is the battle happening in the corn field. Iowa v Iowa State.  With Iowa State favored by 4.5. Name a better set of rivals that’s always competitive even early in the year. Iowa State is a ton of people’s dark horse for a contender this year. But I dare steal from Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend” Iowa has been slept on with their run they started at the end of the year last year and a very commanding victory over Indiana. I dare call Iowa my dark horse in the Big 10. I’m riding with the Hawkeyes to take home their 6th in a row Cy-Hawk.

Is Texas finally back? Their match up today against Arkansas will help answer that question even further for us. Hand up I totally thought Louisiana would pull the upset last week but Sarkisian had those boys playing like Texas is back and as a 6.5 favorite. It’s at Arky though and Sam Pittman has the Hogs playing more and more like 40 to 50 feral Hogs. They are no longer a give me game and they’re going to put up a fight. So I’m going to have to go Arkansas +6.5

2 minute drill time. Give me App State over Miami Straight up. Jboy talked me into this pick. I’m going to ride with Tennessee over Pitt. Utah over BYU for the other great early rivalry. And to set up for the game winning field goal. I’ve gotta talk about our Blazers at Georgia. Georgia is a 22.5 favorite but Twitter rumors has it that JT might have a torn oblique. Does that mean our Defense could stand a chance. We do have the best D in the C-USA. But as the track record shows. Even when we face SEC teams in their absolute down year they have still dog walked us. I would love to believe that we can cover and even pull the upset. But I don’t think we’re quite there yet. Coach Clark has us trending in the right direction and I wouldn’t be shocked to see either the AAC or Sun Belt to come knocking due to the conferences realigning. Which would help narrow the gap.

God Bless and y’all be safe.
