The new stadium and what it means for the city

Protective Stadium is due to be finished in 2021, it will be the new home of the UAB blazers and so much more. So what does this mean for our city?

The location is amazing, sitting near the bjcc, top golf, the uptown district, and right off the interstate. Legion field has been the home of the blazers for awhile, and has hosted other big events over the years. But this stadium brings a whole new level of excitement for the city of Birmingham, and it’s going to be good for a lot of reasons. Downtown Birmingham has seen a lot of upgrades over the past few years and it seems like everyone is loving it. You have regions field, home of the barons, so much around that area has grown. You have all the new restaurants, the entertainment places and of course the bjcc. So this new stadium can bring even more into our city, bigger sporting events, concerts, maybe other sports teams and so much more.

The impact it can have on our city is pretty high and it’s pretty exciting to think about. Driving by the area, it just kind of gets you pumped up for what’s to come. You can probably remember the first time you walked into and around regions field, just taking it all in and enjoying the new park. The first time you enter this stadium is definitely going to be an incredible experience. With nothing really going on sports wise in Birmingham right now, this is something you can drive by and just get excited about. The future of Birmingham sports and entertainment is bright, there is a vision, and it seems like it’s all going in the right direction.
